AMBX - Anti-microbial.
MatX Smart Materials has developed a biocide-free technology with anti-microbial, anti-mold, anti-fungal, and anti-viral properties, ensuring >99.99% effectiveness against bacteria using only natural ingredients. This technique is applicable to a wide range of polymers for various production techniques, including injection molding.
MatX works with different masterbatches for different polymers, such as ABS, PE, PP, PS, soft PVC, TPU, TPE, LSR, and more. Adding 3% of the anti-microbial masterbatch from MatX Smart Materials imparts anti-microbial, anti-mold/fungal, and anti-viral properties to the injection-molded object. The power of this technology lies in its non-migratory and non-fading properties, making it 100% safe for humans, animals, and nature, including for medical purposes. The material does not contain any harmful or toxic substances, silver or copper. Bacteria that come into contact with the biocide-free material have minimal chances of survival, and the material continuously inhibits the growth of microbes.
100% Safe.
There is no active mechanism or presence of harmful substances inside, and nothing migrates from the surface to combat bacteria.
The technology is inert and inherent within the material, designed to remain indefinitely.
Proven result.
This packaging extends the shelf life of food products, reducing spoilage and pathogen growth.
It’s a game-changer in maintaining freshness and nutritional value, beneficial for both producers and consumers.
Easy to process.
Depending on the material, we select the most suitable masterbatch in collaboration with the customer, based on the polymer type. Already, more than 8 different masterbatches have been successfully tested.
With a proper homogeneous mixture of 3% AMBX, tests will demonstrate antimicrobial effectiveness.

Why AMBX - Anti microbial.
Explore the difference: our biocide-free anti-microbial additive AMBX vs. traditional biocide-based anti-microbials – Unlock the advantages for your product
Companies that utilize antimicrobial additives can offer a range of benefits to their customers, including increased safety, hygiene, and durability. An antimicrobial additive is designed to inhibit the growth of microorganisms, such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses, on the surface of a product. This can be particularly beneficial for products frequently touched or used in high-traffic areas, such as medical devices, food packaging, and consumer goods.
By adding an antimicrobial additive to their products, companies can help reduce the spread of germs and promote a cleaner, healthier environment. This is especially important in industries like healthcare, where the risk of infection is high. In addition to promoting hygiene, an antimicrobial additive can also improve the durability and lifespan of a product. By inhibiting the growth of microorganisms, the product is less likely to degrade or deteriorate over time. This is particularly beneficial for products exposed to harsh conditions or used in outdoor environments.
The use of antimicrobial additives is not limited to specific industries or products. They can be incorporated into a wide range of polymers, making them a versatile solution for various applications.
In conclusion, companies that utilize antimicrobial additives can offer their customers increased safety, hygiene, and durability. By incorporating this technology into their products, companies can demonstrate their commitment to both customer satisfaction and environmental responsibility.

MatX products for baby and child applications are designed with safety and hygiene in mind, incorporating the AMBX additive to ensure antimicrobial protection without harmful biocides.
The AMBX additive is a special additive in the form of a masterbatch used to provide products with antimicrobial properties. It has been developed by MatX and has the ability to make products >99.99% free from microbacteria without the use of biocides.
Absolutely, our products are designed for durability and long-lasting antimicrobial action, even with regular cleaning, making them ideal for maintaining hygiene in baby and child environments.
Thanks to the passive anti-adhesive principle, bacteria and fungi have no chance of survival. Because the technology does not rely on migration, there is no leaching, and bacteria cannot build up resistance over time.
The AMBX additive is a special additive in the form of a masterbatch used to provide products with antimicrobial properties. It has been developed by MatX and has the ability to make products >99.99% free from microbacteria without the use of biocides.
The functionality of the technology does not rely on migration, so nothing leaches away from the material over time. That means it will never run out; it is simply always there. So it will never fade away or wear off.
The AMBX additive is effective against a wide range of microbacteria. While it can contribute to reducing the spread of resistant bacteria, it’s important to note that it doesn’t provide complete immunity to all types of bacterial resistance. It is still important to practice proper hygiene and infection prevention.
